No 40K thread yet? I'm surprised. Nay, shocked, shocked I say to discover there's gambling going on in this establishment...

I'm eagerly anticipating the imminent 5th Edition release, personally, but I was interested to know if anyone here plays and has a differing opinion on it. There are certainly plenty of people out there who seem to think that 40K 4th edition "only just" came out and that a new edition isn't needed. Anyone?

Warhammer Fantasy (including Age of Sigmar and WFRP) has its own thread here.

I think I'm going to repaint and start using my Sisters again. The paint scheme will sort of match my Guard, in that this Convent will also be from my Irish/Scottish/Celtic-in-general themed planet. So they will be a force of fiery red-headed nuns in power armor.

[up]Cool. I've been looking at Sisters again and have been thinking about painting a Knight in a similar colour scheme to my Order so that I use it with them.

[up]You should convert them to have massive claymoresgrin

I should, right now I'm planning on how to give them greenstuff-made kilts. Might do the claymores for maul/buckler Bullgryn, though.

Ironically, my army is lead by Samuel L. Straken (an old Straken mini, painted to be black, ala Samuel L Jackson) who is tired of motherfucking heretics/xenos on his motherfucking planets.

Perturabo is going to be the next Primarch model released and he looks appropriately tankified.

He'll be like Ralphie's little brother. Retreating from a lost battle against the Loyalists he trips and he can't get up XD

You know, after seen the fluff forgeworld made to legion, is pretty clear that many goes to chaos thanks the their primarch reshaping them into his own personal army.

Take mortarion for example who after renaming the dush rider into the death guard he throw away all the terra custom and adopt heavly the barbarus ones until the point there is barely any terran identity in the legion. if I have to suspect a reason is because Mortarion didnt want anything to do with his father so he try to washed away his legion and make them his own.

And he is not the only one: Lorgar pretty make sure his marine follow the imperial creed and the the runious power without thinking to much about it, the Iron warrior fluff said that perturbao purge the influence of both olympian and terran and insert his on while luna wolf actually sugest that everything would be better if cthonia just blew up after finding horus.

In fact, the only legion without any issue about terran marine and primach homeworld...are the night lord, they blent themselve perfecly without a problem, I dont know what to said about it

So I'm trying to work out the weapons fit for my Tactical Squad, and I'm completely stuck. >.<

Mostly because I have no idea what combination of Heavy Flamer / Heavy Bolter / Missile Launcher + Flamer / Grav Gun / Melta Gun / Plasma Gun works best on the field.

[up]Well Tactical Squads can't take Heavy Flamers so they are out unless you are using Blood Angels. As for the rest, it depends on what you want them to do and what you are up against. Fighting vehicle heavy enemys then Meltagun and Lascannon/Multi-Melta is best. Fighting Maines then take plas and grav weapons. For Horde armies flamers and heavy bolters are good. If you want some versatility then a Missile Launcher and Plasma Gun is what I generally take.

Given that I've posted photos of Death Company miniatures and a big red METAL BAWKS I think it should be obvious that I'm building a Blood Angels squad.

[up]Yes well I forgottongue

I have mostly seen Blood Angel Tactical Marines used in the same way as Sternguard in other Marine Armies, designed to get First Blood by Drop Pod deploying them in front of a soft target and then flaming or meltaing it to death. Other than that the other advice still stands.

In my own WIP Blood Drinkers army I am planning to split them into Combat squads and then have one in a Razorback with flamers and meltas while the other support my Devastators with flakk equipped Missile Launcherss but I haven't gotten around to using them on the battlefield yet.
