No 40K thread yet? I'm surprised. Nay, shocked, shocked I say to discover there's gambling going on in this establishment...
I'm eagerly anticipating the imminent 5th Edition release, personally, but I was interested to know if anyone here plays and has a differing opinion on it. There are certainly plenty of people out there who seem to think that 40K 4th edition "only just" came out and that a new edition isn't needed. Anyone?
Warhammer Fantasy (including Age of Sigmar and WFRP) has its own thread here.

and the necron recovery have limits, it was implied in the old codex but now is more clear that the necros goes insane if they recover to much, funny thing is made them similar to the dark eldar
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"OK, winning was the wrong word. Tyranids will eat everything they can and the only thing left behind would be the Necrons.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireNah, the Orks will be the last ones to have the last laugh.
... No, I changed my mind: The Ork/Tyranid hybrid race that will emerge as the ultimate victor of the Octarius/Octavius war will eat everyone else.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I'm now imagining orcs riding carnifexes, with guns that shoot hormagaunts.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntI thought it was Orktavius
I suppose Ork revolution will be called....
...the Red Orktober.
I'll get my coat.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiThat kind of pun is noted to cause brain damage! Especially to the Orkcipital lobe!
You are dazzled by my array of very legal documents. That would be quite orkward.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiI think that I remember a story in White Dwarf about an Imperial Navy hunt during the Third War for Armageddon for a particular Ork warship containing a genius Mekboy called Orkimedes. I think the story was called The Hunt For Red Orktober, but not the ship itself.
In modelling news, I have FINALLY fitted replacement canopies to my Vendetta, and the basecoats are down. The colours are based on Luftwaffe bomber camouflage. Will have some pics up shortly...

With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.Pagad confirmed for Wehraboo.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiI am sincerely convinced that someday there will be a "weeaboo" derivative for every single interest in the entire world.
Is someone an environmentalist? They're a treeaboo!
Dungeons and Dragons player? D&Daboo!
Enjoys winter sports? Skiaboo!
Totally not going to apply Do-17 decals to it. Noep.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.
They're all quality names though.
Report to the Commissar at 0800 for re-education. Write out 1000 times: "The Panther set itself on fire and is uglier than the T-44". Or Siberia.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiIron Crosses would perhaps be a bit much (and swastikas far more so). Identification numbers and warning signs will suffice, combined with official GW ones.
I also want to give it a shark mouth, but I'm undecided between the official decals (which lack the black and red background of more traditional ones) or a set from a spare Bf-109G kit (said decals being from the Finnish Air Force scheme◊).
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.Man, I so want to start a Dark Eldar army, but I'm too in love with my Guard army.
If I did start a Dark Eldar army, I kind of want to make an (as much as I can) all-female Kabal.
Right now I want to buy a Deathstrike. Whether or not it's a good use of points, I want it.
I need to work on my dark eldar army. I was trying to give them a Silent Hill-style paint job—fog colored armor and gory, rusted metals—and it was going alright. Part of the problem was that I was aiming for a "carnival of flesh" style army and in the first few months after launch that wasn't very well supported by models. Now it's much better supported and I'm too poor to ever care.

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Sounds like an interesting scheme. I must work on my Wych army again although the question is whether I replace my current succubus with the beautiful new one.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellOld photo◊ of my very dusty prototype.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Got my paint tray set up and ready to go...although I've realized that I should've gotten the larger one because the Citadel pots I have take up a lot more room than I thought they would, and when I get more paints I'm going to have to move my varnishes and some other stuff off to have room for them.
The rumor-mill has reached that lull betwixt updates again. The only thing floating down seems to be a Necron codex dropping Halloween-ish. Rumors say its a minimal release (Grey Knights used as reference), but there might be a repack of the Destroyer with both upgrade options included (heavy and lord).
I'll post again once something else surfaces.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireI've been watching Miniwargarmer Jay's review of the DE codex, and while I don't (and probably won't) play them, from his comments overall I'm not seeing a huge hit to them aside from losing several H Qs due to the "named character w/o a model" issue.

And the Necron rumors have probably been debunked. That was fun while it lasted. I'll just wait till after the new End Times bit before believing any rumors.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireHas anyone played Conquest yet? I've gone through a few games with a friend who bought the core. So far, it's quite nice.
Suffer not the witch to live.I was quite interested in it. Care to post full thoughts and critique on it when you're done?
Even if they do somehow win the various dynasties will cause their new empire to collapse in on itself in another Forever War. Literally, considering that Necrons will self-repair no matter what damage they sustain.
