Um, hi! I'm Cope, and I should be sleeping. I signed up to edit a trope entry only to discover it was checked out for now. So...here I am to use my account for something.

Welcome new people! You'll find many wonderful amenities here! To the left, you'll see the commissary, dormitory, paternoster and foyer. To the right, you'll see the Gigantor, Patlabor, Grenadier, Gunbuster, and a few Robos Getter. Second floor, watch for the Narms, Discontinuities, Wangst, and filibustering authors. Out in the yard, enjoy "made of win", crowning moments of awesome, and rules of cool.

There's nothing that cannot be accomplished by a liberal application of selective reading. Only a passing knowledge of proper spelling also helps.

Hi people! I'm Odda C. I've had somewhat of an addiction to tvtropes for the past month or so since I found it, however I've only been aware of this community as of yesterday. No, I'm not making this up. I'm known as Fujiwara Mokou in the IRC (named after one of my favorite Touhou characters). I'm also a writer and stuff. Well, thats it!

Awwright, Webster's Seventh New Collegiate Dictionary sez: 1: often cap LORD'S PRAYER 2: a word formula repeated as a prayer or magical charm. So, what am I missing

It's also the name for a really wacked-out elevator ("really wacked-out lift" to you Brits).

I didn't write any of that.

I bet it would, what with the whole gereate/gyrate thing you've got goin' on towards the end there. Adam850 wrote:

Bah, sanity is boring. If you're going to be evil, why not go all the way? It's not about power, or money, it's about finding as many people as you can and killing them in the most violent, brutal way possible.

Good enough. We would've also accepted "explodes into kittens" and "KHAAAAAN!" Rock wrote:

I think it was The Tick who said "Sanity is a one-trick pony."

I wrote about a fish turning into the moon.

Hello, everyone! My name is Jürgen, and I'm a 32 years old Ph D student from Germany. The odds are very good that someone here will recognize me from a pen & paper RPG forum (it usually happens when I go to a new forum - I guess I'm just that memorable...).

I discovered this wiki several months ago, and naturally got addicted to reading through it when I should be doing other things. But I'm also getting quite a bit of use out of this wiki - I'm using it to develop a fantasy setting which I have been working on for several years. My plan is to put as many tropes as possible into this setting without making it too cheesy or inconsistent. We'll see how this works out.

I've also created a number of RPG-related wikis as well - the most recent is the Arcana Wiki, which was partially inspired by the TV Tropes Wiki. The basic concept is "The Wikipedia, with added space for adventure and gaming ideas". The nested structure of the "Game and Story Use" section of each entry was directly inspired by how the TV Tropes Wiki is structured, and if I can attract even a small portion of the enthusiasm that's evident here, this wiki will be successful. Right now, I'm also trying to start a Tropes section which will explain how to use tropes in gaming - maybe some of you can help me out over there...

Hola my name is - well just look to the right.

I'm 15 years old, my intrests include video games, exploring my life's meaning, and long walks on the beach.

Though i would probably consider myself a video game fanboy (of what I'm not telling), you don't have to worry about me going into random outbursts about how "blah blah blah blah is the best thing ever and you suck for not liking it.".

A reasonable video game fanboy? Surely the intertubes will implode under the weight of the improbability!

Ok, then... Welcome Cope, Odda C., Nevrmore, Teemo, Supernaut, Malkavian, Jürgen Hubert, and Jotun of Boredom! Here's your ID badge, you'll have to attend orientation, next Monday 7:00 am in the basement. Troping starts at 8:00 am everyday, with lunch at noon. You'll get a packet at orientation with your cubicle number and mainframe login passcode. Uh, Fridays are casual, so, yeah, go ahead and wear a Hawaiian shirt (you still have to wear long pants - no shorts.) We have company softball weekends in the summer, so sign up if you want to play.

I`m 24 years old, male, student. And this site inspired me to start writing a story that you can find in the Writer`s Block forum...*hint*
