Okay, according to Shive, it was a massive DNS malfunction. Should be sorted, with new comic uploaded, on Monday.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Do we know why it is down? Do Dam have a Twitter or something.
Btw, I was just thinking in you a while back, AHR. I just asked about some considerations on feminist and sexism matters in the MS Paint Adventures thread when I remembered this is kinda of your specialty*. To bad you don't post there*.
I used to read Homestuck. Then I got the thread locked because I made minor observations about it that pissed people off (like, really minor, like noticing trends in adjectives and soda intake).
I don't read Homestuck anymore.
Granted, I'm just a bitter old bastard, so eh, I'm probably hyperbolizing.
Anywho, Homestuck is pretty ok with gender depictions, although I would definitely say there are trends in how he writes males vs. females. What was it specifically on your mind?

There's a link up above to Dan Shive's Tumblr account which has some explanation and a few sketchbooks. Right now, he's aiming for restarting on Monday due to a combination of the DNS issues, illness, and generally getting thrown off by not being able to put his comics up.
goddamn why do i feel like shipping susan and elliot all of a sudden
I'm looking up the star trek reference the comic is named after, it may shed some light as to the outcome of this.
EDIT: Well, it refers to a Star Trek movie... Maybe Susan is going to make Elliot into a Trekkie? It's Movie IV, The Voyage Home, for the curious.
EDIT 2: fackfackfackfackfack wasn't paying attention Link's fixed.

Because they're getting more romantically attractive relationship moments than Sarah and Elliot have in a while/ever.
"The marvel is not that the Bear posts well, but that the Bear posts at all."I'm not used to seeing susan so happy, and it really is creeping me out. Also, I think the reason might be that first panel. Her eyes are half-shut as usual, but with that smile it can be mistaken for "sultry" or "interested". Also, Elliot drops the chopsticks, which I didn't see as a one-off gag the first read (stuff has been happening), which could lead to many love-starting situations:
Elliot: Susan, you don't have to do th— -spills his buttery popcorn on Susan-
Susan: Oh no, my shirt is ruined! I'd better take it off...
-porn music starts-
On a serious note, I have a theory as to why Susan watches so many movies. When her father left, she spent her days in her room with only a stack of old movies to keep her entertained, in order to cope. Even though she's learned to accept the outside world, though a bit colder than most, she still loves a good movie because they take her mind off her worries.

Is anyone else having problems accessing the EGS website again?
goddamnit not again
"Here, Elliot, let me grab your shopsticks... that's a really thick chopstick there." "Um, Sarah, that's not my chopstick!"
And then in comes the pizza-boy with a Burt Reynolds moustauche.
Yup again.
Trump delenda estWellp, no strip for me, it seems.

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."I'm guessing Sarah will somehow end up at Susan's house (or looking for Elliot) to show off the aftereffect of her big transformation and catch them in a compromising but actually entirely harmless situation, so she can jump to all the wrong conclusions - thus leading to 'entertaining' dramatic conflict in their relationship. This situation may or may not lead directly into the whole "Dark Sarah" foreshadowing we've possibly been given, but it'll all turn out amiably in the end.
But before that happens, we'll get some kind of cute scene where both Susan and Elliot reach for the chopstick at the same time.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain....Is no one going to comment on him comparing Susan to a whale, and calling a whale a "large aquatic fish"?
...Do you not read the commentary? Am I the only one who reads the commentary?
It was kind of mean, but really - he was just kidding around. Susan's one of the skinniest girls in the comic.
And you can tell he's joking about the fish comment, because he then calls water-based mammals "absurd". He could have just called it a fish and moved on, but he lampshaded it. There's no way it was an unintentional mistake.
I'm not saying that he was being mean at all, but how did no one even comment on it?
He made a dumb joke, we should we care? Should I call AHR and tell her to put her feminism hat on and see if we can force a diatribe out of her about how it's offensive to call women whales?
I mean first you'd have to get that to make sense first.
