This is the thread for discussion of The Order of the Stick plot, characters, etc. We have a separate thread for discussing game rules and mechanics. Excessive rules discussions here may be thumped as off-topic.

It's not so much of a Big Damn Heroes moment from them as it from V. It's just a logical conclusion of their deal. They have V for only so long, and they likely would not want to cash in on one of the other two parts, saving it for later. So, V will be set free...but what will he/she see when he/she gets back?
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I still say the best way to off Tarquin is off-screen between the end of the story and the epilogue and only reference it happening once, casually, before immediately changing subjects to a rules joke or something.

What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers.Couldn't Tarquin just, I don't know, lose to Reptilia?
Or is that not even a thing that could possibly happen?
Eat pasta!Pretty much no, Especially given he could call in the other 2 empires if need be.
Also, Map of the western continent.◊ In case anyone has a hard time seeing it, that tiny country on the east coast between the mountains, empire of blood and empire of sweat? That's Reptillia.
I'm calling Curb-Stomp Battle.

I'm baaaaaaack24317: Didn't Nale get his Complexity Addiction from his mother?
EDIT: Yes he did.

CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsEveryone else losing to Reptilia may be unlikely; but it isn't outside the realm of possibility.
Eat pasta!Suddenly! The trees attack!
I have a message from another time...Who knows? For all we know, they could have A: an improbably well-equipped and/or competent army, B: enough gold to hire a whole legion of adventurers to fight with them, or C: the help of some sort of higher power, like a god or summat.
After all, geographic area ain't everything.
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, baby@ Enlong: Exactly. Maybe the reptiles have the arboreal army on their side; thus having spies and soldiers infiltrating all around the world.
Or maybe Tiamat is going to step up her involvement in the world after the Famlicide of Black Dragons; and protect a nation full of her reptilian children from invasion.
Eat pasta! The ruling elite of Reptilia are all epic level badasses that make Xykon look like a beginner
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Random question: Do we know this guy in the scarf?
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyMyron...something or other is the common assumption. Shewdanker? I forget. Anyway, nothing official, but that's the common theory.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! It's Mirion, and how is it not official? We've seen the ransom letter Haley got from Tyrania signed by him, Tarquin confirmed that to Elan that he and Mirion worked that empire together, and this guy has confirmed that he was the one who wrote the letter.
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers. We also saw him in several flashback panels featuring Tarquins groups. He was first name dropped years ago then he first showed up and was name dropped back when Tarquin started talking about his group.
You look happy, I can change that if you want.I don't suppose he shows up in that name searcher thing (yet)?
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyJust look him up he has shown up quite a few times so I am shocked you don't remember him.
You look happy, I can change that if you want.Miron, but yeah it's definitely him. The Epileptic Trees are regarding whether Miron is someone else in disguise (instant WMGs, just add facial coverings. I'm looking at you, Coldhands.)
I must confess that I like this strip more every time I read it.
What great bonds between the Order.
Eat pasta! That particular episode was when they began to come together as a team rather than a set of quirky, dysfunctional adventurers raiding a dungeon.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Reading the comic after that... I kind of want V to come in with Explosive Runes now.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."This strip is pretty sad in retrospect.
Oh, and more importantly new comic. Can anyone tell if anyone important is in the inbox? i.e. Z and/or Nale
Yes.

Edit, edit, edit, edit the wikiWe posted the new strip yet?
I think I see Nale slightly to the right of center (blond hair, parted) but there's another damned soul's head covering up where the goatee would be so It's hard to say for sure. And there are a few green-skinned individuals who could be Thog, but the only one whose face is clearly visible has a beard.

Well, this lends support to the idea that V will be the Big Damn Heroes in this mess. Oh, and anyone see Nale in Lee's inbox? He should be arriving soon, if he hasn't already.
Thog wouldn't be there; he'd be in Cedric's inbox.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
The IFCC are probably the last people we should be hoping for a Big Damn Heroes moment to spring from.
