It's not so much of a Big Damn Heroes moment from them as it from V. It's just a logical conclusion of their deal. They have V for only so long, and they likely would not want to cash in on one of the other two parts, saving it for later. So, V will be set free...but what will he/she see when he/she gets back?

I still say the best way to off Tarquin is off-screen between the end of the story and the epilogue and only reference it happening once, casually, before immediately changing subjects to a rules joke or something.

Who knows? For all we know, they could have A: an improbably well-equipped and/or competent army, B: enough gold to hire a whole legion of adventurers to fight with them, or C: the help of some sort of higher power, like a god or summat.
After all, geographic area ain't everything.

@ Enlong: Exactly. Maybe the reptiles have the arboreal army on their side; thus having spies and soldiers infiltrating all around the world.
Or maybe Tiamat is going to step up her involvement in the world after the Famlicide of Black Dragons; and protect a nation full of her reptilian children from invasion.

It's Mirion, and how is it not official? We've seen the ransom letter Haley got from Tyrania signed by him, Tarquin confirmed that to Elan that he and Mirion worked that empire together, and this guy has confirmed that he was the one who wrote the letter.

We also saw him in several flashback panels featuring Tarquins groups. He was first name dropped years ago then he first showed up and was name dropped back when Tarquin started talking about his group.

I think I see Nale slightly to the right of center (blond hair, parted) but there's another damned soul's head covering up where the goatee would be so It's hard to say for sure. And there are a few green-skinned individuals who could be Thog, but the only one whose face is clearly visible has a beard.
