Belkar as a vampire wouldn't be Belkar. That's kind of what the current storyline has been about.

Yes. That does not necessarily exclude a short stint as a vampire though, as long as he gets dusted in the end.

So if Durkula is the High Priest of Hel by virtue of being the only priest of Hel, what happens if the guy that just got vamped has more cleric levels? Does he outrank Durkula that way, or is seniority decided by "time in Hel's service" instead? (Or just the whim of Hel herself?)

There's probably some minimal level required (i.e. level 1 wouldn't cut it) but otherwise on Hel's authority.

I'd imagine it goes by seniority, but that can be overruled by Divine Decree or Klingon Promotion.

Though in this specific case, it's probably not much of any issue because Durkula's presumably going to just keep this guy under his control; like how Malack controlled him at first.

I don't understand what you mean. Blackwing saw a planet inside the rift. If you mean what his vision means for the Snarl plot, then no, we haven't gotten any further insights yet.

It's entirely possible that a vampire made from that Ckeric won't be a priest of Hel at all. After all, Durkon was drained by a priest of Nergal, but still ended up with a vampire spirit controlled by Hel.

Durkon became a Cleric of Hel because she holds sway over dwarves, such as the Exarch.

Not really. We know that the other Rift has a sea inside it, and that the Order saw that. Blackwing also told V about the planet. The real importance of this is unclear yet.

So, we have a planet that seems to be entirely devoid of life, save for the Snarl itself, if it can even be called that.

My going theory is that because it was created from tangled strings of reality meant to form a planet, it has since coalesced into a planet. But as Laurin discovered, it's still very dangerous.

And the two linked strips are pretty much the sum total extent of our knowledge about the business inside the Rift.

Well technically there was one more strip, but that was just showing the same planet up close in the sea on it. Interesting stuff was in the second linked.

Why do you say devoid of life? I see green on the land areas.

There weren't any fish in the ocean.

Green = plants, plants = life.

It takes quite a while to work up the scale to intelligent, vertebrate life, but you can't dis the plants, man.
