Aaaaiiiiieeeeeeee! LOLOLOLOLOL!

Still trolling through older stuff, and realized why Moloch can't find a hammer.

Check the last bubble of the second frame, and tell me if you don't agree the Castle would take a proactive stance on that statement...

Wow...I did not notice that at all. Good work, Hippogrif. I bet that's the case.

Oh, and good work with the text-heavy statements. Really well thought out, and it helped me get a better grasp on Tarvek. Other than that, sorry I'm not going to even begin to start commenting on them.

As to the "Gil or Tarvek" question ... Moloch did suggest that Agatha would pick both and Violetta said you don't wear two hats. Two hats, two heads, two personalities? I still think it's possible that Tarvek and Gil end up somehow melded. And Agatha's last remark on the page, assuming you're still alive, would seem to apply as well given Tarvek's current condition as a smoldering human firework.

By the way, as I was flipping through Hippogrif's references a page or so back I hit this one. If The Other has forgotten about the troublesome need for sleep, it seems to settle the question of whether The Other was human to begin with, or even from this world (if "she" was biological to begin with, rather than a clank). That Dragon from Mars story does seem thematically true.

Say, I haven't seen Tiktoffen in a while. Where is he, and what is he up to?

There've been quite a few "Agatha picks both" allusions floating around, actually. With the Foglios, though, it's hard to tell whether it's fanservice or foreshadowing.

Greybeard:

You've got my favorite Other theory there...but I don't consider it proven yet, or even more than moderately supported. Too many possible escape hatches to give different answers. But I am betting on the Other being a hive queen...and the time line on both Lucrezia and Agatha skewed by time travel in some way. I'm not certain Lucrezia isn't a "Child" designed for the Other's use herself...a Spark with no wasp resistance.

But that's out there with other Mad Theories.

Gil and Tarvek: really too early to say, but given Agatha's got two people in one head, there's no reason not to have a spouse for each. (grin).

Nornaghast, you're right: "Twice the boyfriends twice the fun!" indicators all over the place. Could go all sorts of ways, though.

Kupo Mechanic: Thanks for the shared laugh. And thanks for the compliment. Lord help me, those posts are enormous. I'm glad I did them, but trying to comment on them would demand footnotes and an index. Glad they served their purpose, and glad others got some mileage out of my little OCD binge.

Someone should hire me to annotate things like this...

You want OCD, you should have seen what happened with Harry Potter. Or did you? The one site I was active on, newclues, had tens of thousands of well-supported analysis comments for each of the last three books. (If they weren't well-supported, they were thrown off.)

As far as two people with two personalities in double-marriage ... well, it is said that the plural of spouse is spice.

Comic!

Looks like a break for the Hugo awards acceptance. Amusing enough, I'll take it, and they earned it.

Greybeard...

LOL! My last seriously massive rounds of OCD mania were for HP. Somewhere between Azkaban and Goblet I did an almost identical round of frantic text-mayhem over Snape, went galloping through the Mabinogian and the Matter of England, took a fast detour through the Grail, came back for a really TIGHT close reading of every Snape scene then in existence, and ended up cheerfully announcing Snape as a good guy. Spent the next few years coping with a sulky daughter who had emotional investment in detesting poor Sev. I've been chuckling at myself the past weeks: Tarvek sets off many of the same alarms Severus did...

But I will confess for the most part I stay out of the fan forums. By no means entirely, and I've even had a few prolonged periods of tenancy....but mostly I try to stay away, like an alcoholic in a 12 step keeping out of bars and honky-tonks.

I love it when I'm tripping down to the tvtropes forum to check on a webcomic thread -and I see the thread at the very top of hte page and realize that must mean the webcomic's been updated! :D

Bravo, Foglios! They've earned this award with both hands, that's for sure. And this page amused me loads. Certainly one of the best acceptance speeches I've seen in a while - and they weren't even cut off by the stupid annoying orchestra, either! :D Plus, Cheyenne Wright's three-panel speech made me LOL.

God damn it, I would LOVE to see that! I am personally into 1-on-1 relationships, so it would feel somewhat less romantic for me, but it would just be so hilarious and interesting to read...

(SNERK) Just think of Agatha on coffee, only apply the results to text not spark-roast percolators.

Nornagest made the claim, jaimestorga was only quoting. I'll second the claim but have already assaulted the bb with my long and reference crammed posts. I'll cede the round to anyone else who feels like doing a text crawl.

The one that immediately springs to mind is the Cinderella interlude.

I think that it'd going to have to be one or the other by the very end... but they can meander awfully far in the meantime. Taking both just isn't a satisfying conclusion to a love triangle arc, it never is.

Unless the Other somehow is brought under control while continuing to exist (highly unlikely, that) and we wind up with an Other/Tarvek Agatha/Gil double pairing.

I don't think you can consider a story concluded if the villain and the protagonist are still trying to control the same body.

The Other does seem to lust after Tarvek, but I don't think he reciprocates her attention.

LOL! The Other appears to be just plain interested and available. She seems to have chalked up Bill, Klaus, Aaronev, is considering Tarvek (who seems appropriately nervous...)and who knows what she's going to think when she gets sight of Gil? I consider her current residence in Agatha's head one of the better arguments for a cheerfully polygamous resolution: if Agatha must incorporate her inner Other rather than evict her, the two could form quite the combination...

Here the Castle is looking beyond "both" to "lotsa."

http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20090401

And while it's not canon, this combined with the various comments, asides and resolutions of Cinderella DO appear to be where the Creator's minds are currently headed.

I have to say the pure, unadulterated glee depicted in that image of Agatha, and in this Cinderella page, added to the stunned dismay of Our Boys, seems to indicate a certain cheerful willingness to plaaaaaaaaay with the possibilities...if only for the fun of watching the various fireworks between personalities.

On a more serious note, I think Agatha may need both boys on her side to cope with the situation she's in. Tarvek was actually giving really good advice in the three pages starting here(and I think summarizing his own life philosophy), and Gil's as informed in his own way. Neither is slow to tell her to her face when she's screwing up...and she's willing to battle it out so it's not just poor wee little Agatha taking orders from the Boys. As a team they've got huge potential.

BTW, if the last two panels before Tarvek faints really are his life philosophy it a) explains a huge amount of his behavior in Sturmhalten and b) it appears to be close to identical to how I'd sum up Klaus' ruling philosophy: you don't have the luxury of trust, but so what—if you're going to get everyone out alive, you use what you've got.

Looking at that second image... my, I never knew she was into playing dress up... =P

Took me a little while to notice the mistletoe. I love both the look of surprise on their faces and Agatha's grin.

EDIT: As for the third image, I dunno about unadulterated but if she was married to one she probably wouldn't mind engaging in some adultery with the other one.
