Unless... there was a gap between Annie relinquishing control (in the classroom) and her trying to officially hand the plushie of Reynard over to her father later on.
Kat could have "stolen" him when he was officially nobody's and might have been free to act on his own. And, say... ask to be "taken", if only to be in a position to help Annie?

Unlikely. By a lot of factors. I doubt that relinquishing control works outside of earshot of the controlled. Kat didn't seem like she skipped classes and when she arrived Annie was there.
And lastly, for it to be true Kat would've had to be faking the outrage.
So no, Kat getting her hands on Rey was a later occurence.
Annie still had control over Renard when Kat held him last chapter, since Renard couldn't speak because of Annie's orders. The switch would've had to happen between chapters.
"No copyright law in the universe is going to stop me!" ~ Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic ColoursNow that's just tempting fate Renard.
Excellent.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I remember Tom saying "Don't give up on Annie just yet"
Question is: did Annie remember the significance of that when she passed up her ownership?
I have a message from another time...Most certainly yes. Else, she wouldn't have passed it to Kat first.
We have already established that Annie did not hand control over in that previous chapter.
If Tom is going to plan to retrocon, can't he at least edit his pages?
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."Yay!
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.It could easily have been between Kat giving her the walky talkies and them leaving in the carriage.
Writer, or something. And... a button? 🖲️Last time anybody was shown holding him and Kat's orders are not obeyed:

It would have been minimally plausible if Annie was the one holding him at that moment.
Instead we have him clearly in this box:

Which Annie does not ever hand over to Kat:

It is a perverse lie.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."The characters continue to exist and act even when they are not onscreen. Parley and Smitty did not just pop back into existence for this plan.
They were in the carriage with the boxes with him inside.
Seriously, that's not even convoluted. Get in carriage -> take Renard out of box -> hand to Kat. Hardly a gross violation of narrative causality.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Take a better look in the background of today's second panel. It is the carriage. This happened after last chapter. Immediately after, in fact. Annie just took Reynardine out of the box and handed it over to Kat.

Panel 2: I've been found out!
Panel 4: Bluff!
Panel 5: I do not believe you.
Panel 6: Quick, save her, but don't look at him and give it away.
The real Tony shall defeat this robot and save his daughter.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."Your point?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Tony is getting less and less Knight Templar Parent and more and more Uncanny Valley...
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youKat, you're getting a little too Harry Potter and Snape or Malfoy here.
I can't look at the links right now, but I don't remember it being made clear that Tony was with the girls in the carriage ride to the vault.
I don't think anyone is arguing he was. Any "he" would be referring to Rey.
Annie probably subconsciously did it as a act of rebellion.
Or did it long before when the trust the 3 had was strong enough.
