Wow. Remember how I said after Friday's comic that I still couldn't understand why Jeanne's ghost would attack Annie? I think I seriously underestimated her temper. I'm starting to favor my theory that Jeanne attacked her just because Annie made it to the forest side and she couldn't.

And also, I don't think that "him" is someone in the forest, or else Jeanne would not have stayed in the Court, regardless of what Coyote ordered.

Maybe, when she chose the Court, she didn't know that "he" would choose the Wood. Or maybe she really does believe in the ideals of the Court, enough to choose that over love, and all she objects to is the wanton destruction of trees. Or maybe Coyote's punishment to any humans who enter the Wood is just that scary.

I keep thinking that "he" is Ysengrin, but if I recall correctly (haven't read the older strips in quite a while), Ysengrin's crossing over to Gillitie is long after their time. It seems to have happened within living memory, at least.
