Cue the Epileptic Trees, where "him" is every single male character introduced so far in the comic, as well as some new guy that hasn't been introduced yet!

Oh my. That page hurt.
Back for no reason whatsoever!
but they CANT kiss!
I prefer to think of my Jeanne/Ysengrin idea as a Wild Mass Guess rather than an epileptic tree.

If you want an epileptic tree, you'll want what I just came up with while I was making coffee.

Jeanne's lover is Sir Young. He is not dead, and he is not trapped in the Wood. Her life is still miserable and he's still lost forever because...

Sir Young fell in love with Jones, who was constructed by Diego to seduce Sir Young and tear him away from Jeanne

Reynardine said Jones wasn't a robot, and I think he'd know.

Besides, she's too stoic to be a robot.

Wow. Remember how I said after Friday's comic that I still couldn't understand why Jeanne's ghost would attack Annie? I think I seriously underestimated her temper. I'm starting to favor my theory that Jeanne attacked her just because Annie made it to the forest side and she couldn't.

And also, I don't think that "him" is someone in the forest, or else Jeanne would not have stayed in the Court, regardless of what Coyote ordered.
We're not just men of science, we're men of TROPE!
but they CANT kiss!
"Reynardine said Jones wasn't a robot, and I think he'd know. "

I'm not about to get facts get in the way of my most awesomely illogical theory to date!

Ecce Homo Superior
In the latest page, Jeanne looks a lot like Red (with her hair down).

Note: this is not an Epileptic Tree.

Haven: Besides, she's too stoic to be a robot.
Only in Gunnerkrigg Court!

Treblain: And also, I don't think that "him" is someone in the forest, or else Jeanne would not have stayed in the Court, regardless of what Coyote ordered.
Maybe, when she chose the Court, she didn't know that "he" would choose the Wood. Or maybe she really does believe in the ideals of the Court, enough to choose that over love, and all she objects to is the wanton destruction of trees. Or maybe Coyote's punishment to any humans who enter the Wood is just that scary.
I want Kat's glasses!
I think that deserves quoting. Maybe in Ridiculously Human Robots?

They Called Me Mad!! I decided to show them all; but when I looked on my works, oh mighty, I despaired: for it made me realize they were right.

I think it's Pick Your Human Half if she is a robot. But if she isn't, I'd rather put it in Ridiculously Human Robots, near Ripley's quote.

And chapter 23, just two chapters ago, was mainly about them.

I keep thinking that "he" is Ysengrin, but if I recall correctly (haven't read the older strips in quite a while), Ysengrin's crossing over to Gillitie is long after their time. It seems to have happened within living memory, at least.
