YMMV / Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

  • Critical Research Failure: The Narrator reveals some ignorance on philosophy, history, and other such topics. Justified in story in that he's piecing together the remnants of his old life from his notebooks, which were written by a madman.
  • Values Dissonance: The Narrator's rather calm acceptance of the fact that he was given electroshock therapy against his will until almost all memory of his "Phaedrus'" life was erased can be jarring to 21st century readers.
