YMMV / Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V The Abridged Series

Go To

  • Cant Unhear It: Ultima-Savior-Dragon's performance as Shun Kurosaki has made many find themselves incapable of not hearing him like that. Granted, Shun's amazingly hammy performance is hard to forget.
  • Cargo Ship: Jean-Michel Roger is apparently in a relationship with his white knight chess piece.
  • Crazy Is Cool: Shun Kurosaki. Utterly batshit insane, yet still amusing for it. Getting all the best lines doesn't hurt.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Shun for all his craziness and memorable lines. It speaks volumes that the only thing remaining of the series on YouTube is a compilation of him. It was even lampshaded in Episode 15.
"Silence, Bitch! The real fan favorite is making his move."
    • Reiji is a strong second option.
  • Fridge Horror:
    • In Episode 8, Shun flirts with Yuzu - who looks just like his sister. Interpret that as you will.
      • However, it was mentioned in the commentary for this episode that Shun can tell the counterparts apart.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • Moments of Yuma and Yuya's familial relationship is really sweet.
    • In the commentary for Episode 5, Mana and Azzy happily congratulate Wraith, who recently became a father.
    • The cast really admires LittleKuriboh that they are willing to take down their video for him.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: From the same Q&A video in fact.
    • Yuto mentioned that he went on a date with Ruri. The anime series later revealed that Yuto and Ruri are mutually interested in each other, implying that they had in fact dated.
    • Leo claims he is collecting the girls because he wanted to be father figure to them. The preview for Episode 127 reveals that the girls' original counterpart is Ray, Leo's daughter.
  • Ho Yay: Everything is taken from original and up to eleven. Notable examples: Reiji and Yuya, Shingo and Yuya, Shun Kurosaki and everyone.
    • Episode 12 deliberately amplifies Yuya and Yuto's Ho Yay: their last speech sound like Yuto is proposing to Yuya.
Shun: He is getting hitched and he didn't tell me!? That. Bastard.
    • Episode 14 had Shun actually refer to Yuto as his boyfriend.
    • Episode 15 had a chock-full of this with Michio and Teppei.
  • Memetic Molester: The Professor has a fondness for little girls. Yeeeeeeaaah.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Yuri's just as terrifying here as he is in the original, only his traits as a Soft-Spoken Sadist are taken up to eleven, he has a creepy jingle for his Leitmotif, and nothing he does is played for laughs.
  • One-Scene Wonder: Pegasus only made an appearance in episode 7 but promptly steals the scene from everyone else.
  • Tearjerker: Michio and Teppei's carding is still able to pull the heartstrings of many.
