YMMV / Wiseguy

  • Awesome Music: Nights in White Satin playing on the jukebox at the conclusion of the Sonny Steelgrave arc.
    • Also, one of the best themes ever by Mike Post (which is saying something). Was given a Latin upgrade in season 4.
      • Sounds like a variation of his theme to L.A. Law.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes \ Missing Episode: The Dead Dog Records arc, which starred Tim Curry, Deborah Harry, Glenn Frey, and Paul Winfield, has never been officially released on home video, never been legally streamed, and never been rebroadcast...and it isn't likely to be, either, because of the rights issues with the music.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Don Aiuppo reveals himself to be one of these in Season 3.
    • And then there's Tim Curry as Winston Newquay.
  • No Pronunciation Guide: Winston Newquay is pronounced Noo-kway in the show, rather than Nyoo-key in the English fashion.
  • Moment of Awesome: Frank McPike has several of these, such as his Deadpan Snarker comments while being tortured by Mafia thugs, and his facing down an eccentric billionaire with a rocket launcher, armed with only a snubnosed .38 pistol.
  • Replacement Scrappy: Steven Bauer as Michael Santana. The arrival of Santana to replace Ken Wahl's Vinnie Terranova saw the show's ratings drop to unacceptable levels, as fans simply weren't used to a Wiseguy without Vinnie. Eventually, the fourth season with Santana as the lead character was cancelled abruptly, with the OCB disbanded due to federal budget cuts.
