YMMV / What I Stand For

• Awesome Music: Ben Redmond's brilliant song "Broken Sky", which underscores the loss and Bittersweet Ending of Aiden's arc perfectly.
• Heartwarming Moments:
  • The survivors explaining their reasons for joining, and generally connecting in such an awful situation.
  • Despite the flashbacks with Rory ending very tragically, it's very sweet that the two brothers were so close.
  • And even though she's worrying about her friend dying, Stephanie still finds the time to comfort Jack when he's sick.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • The Fatal Family Photo of Charlie's wife and children becomes amusing when one thinks of Gold Standard - which had an infamous Special Effect Failure of a photo blatantly photoshopped into the shot. Here the picture is definitely there.
  • Corey Patton plays a badass soldier who assumes control of a bunch of survivors. Then watch him in The Gumdrops (filmed right after this) where he's a Manchild who Screams Like a Little Girl. He wears the same blue t-shirt in both!
• Moe: Rory manages to be this and an Iron Woobie (with a dash of Keet in there) all at once.
• Narm: Ed Kinney's "they are heading towards us!" line, mainly because of his Suddenly Shouting.
• One-Scene Wonder:
  • Jack Wright has only one scene with dialogue, but gives such a powerfully understated performance that makes you forget his screentime is so short. Zac Goold immediately wrote him a lead role in his short Miles Away, and Bobby Calloway likewise in Young Blood
  • Likewise for Janet Little as the Daniels' mother. She proved so good on set that they regretted not having more scenes for her. Zac later cast her in his short Out.
• Squick: You get two vomiting scenes, neither which uses the Vomit Discretion Shot.
• The Woobie: Jack is a teenager separated from his parents in the middle of a war, and he has to watch a man die in front of him. At least the others signed up for this.
