* CharacterPerceptionEvolution: Vlinny started life in 2014 as a joke Mii that duplicated Vinny's Mii but included a V-shaped mouth as a nod to the UsefulNotes/Nintendo3DS' notoriously imperfect photo-to-Mii feature. The character quickly became an EnsembleDarkhorse in spite of his intentionally forgettable design; however, Vlinny's following also attracted people who started using him as a proxy for Vinny in fan content, usually for {{shipping}} purposes, with some going so far as [[UsefulNotes/{{Otherkin}} kinning]] him. This led to vocal CreatorBacklash from Vinny that led to him tightening the rules on WebVideo/{{Vinesauce}}'s ImageBooru. Vlinny consequently remains a huge BaseBreakingCharacter among Vinesauce fans to this day, with most people choosing to ignore the character's existence to prevent the risk of flame wars.

** In an early episode, Vinny shows a fan-made video depicting a lonely Vinesauce wishing he had more friends, after which [=BonziBUDDY=], [[UsefulNotes/MicrosoftWindows Microsoft Sam]], and a ''VideoGame/MoonbaseAlpha'' astronaut show up. The series would later contain a large amount of characters, with several becoming friends with Vinesauce.

** This is actually the second time Vinny's named a location Vineland; the first time was for his original town in ''VideoGame/AnimalCrossing: New Leaf''. His streams of that game started before the Full Sauce channel and very few streams were viewable on [=YouTube=] until several [=VineClasssics=] were uploaded in mid-2016. However, after Vinny installed ''New Leaf'''s ''Welcome amiibo'' update, which provides the option to sell towns to obtain funds for building a new one, he sold his original town from that game for over 13 million Bells and named his new town Da Burbs (a reference to the "Scoot the Burbs" song he came up with during a stream for various UsefulNotes/GameBoyColor games), leaving his ''Tomodachi Life'' island as the only Vineland.

** ''Anything'' related to Pee-wee's [[ADateWithRosiePalms movie theater incident]]. Heck, most things relating to Pee-wee in general.

* AcceptableTargets: Vinny insulted New Jersey by comparing a photo an islander took to a dirty beach there and when he revisited ''VideoGame/AnimalCrossing: New Leaf'' after starting this series he compared a town intended to look like a post-apocalyptic wasteland to the same state.

* IdiotPlot:
** Vinny seems to not understand what happens when a Mii in a relationship accepts another Mii's love confession, meaning that his plot to sabotage Two Faced and Walrus by sending islanders after the former would only keep the problem going. [[spoiler:He doesn't realize this until after his plan succeeds and only creates more problems.]]
** The entire reason [[spoiler:the Jahn invasion]] happened was because [[spoiler:Jahn #3 was too reckless to simply ask for chicken cutlets]]. Definitely intentional, though.

** Vlinny, oddly enough. Despite being said to fall squarely into the UncannyValley, there's a good amount of fan art that depicts his weird facial deformities as being more silly than scary. There was a decent increase in this depiction after [[spoiler:Dheerse, his brief girlfriend, was evicted, and he started to be seen as more sympathetic]].

** Any of the Music/DavidBowie-related jokes could have potentially become less funny after the real David Bowie's death, which happened about a year and a half after the first ''Tomodachi Life'' stream. The joke hit by this the hardest was from something outside the series. During Vinny's ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBrosX'' contest in 2015, one of the levels he played was "[[https://youtu.be/kwMyES61l1M?t=19m28s Touched by a Sponge]]", a story-based level about Sponge's life. At the end of the level, [[spoiler:Sponge discovers that Bowie (alongside Vinesauce) was killed by the Jahns, and is DrivenToSuicide]]. Back then? BlackComedy. Now? Dark foreshadowing. The eeriest part? That level was the 56th level Vinny played; Episode 56 was the episode the island's David Bowie got released in.

* FunnyAneurysmMoment:

* GrowingTheBeard: The point where the series starts to get interesting is when it shifts from focusing on weird events happening to islanders to focusing on the islanders themselves. Episodes 8 and 9 are good indicators of this shift, as the former added the long-running issue of Walrus and Two Faced, while the latter started Alpaca's relationship issues. The [[spoiler:dimensional split]] in Episode 28 also had a lot to do with Vinny taking the series more seriously; before then Vinny mostly focused on the random and silly nature of the streams, as shown in his "Greatest Hits" video.
* HarsherInHindsight:

** Episode 52 reveals two things -- [[spoiler:Little Mac doesn't like [[DoubleEntendre eating bananas]] (despite being married to [[AnthropomorphicFood an anthropomorphic, female banana]])]], and Two Faced eats them constantly (to the point where it may be affecting her state of mind). The implications are... [[YourCheatingHeart interesting]].

* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: ''Tomodachi Life'' is a simple kids' game about watching over an island of quirky characters. It's being played by an adult known for reveling in VulgarHumor and [[CrossesTheLineTwice jumping back and forth across the line]]. The result is the game being filled with masturbation jokes and [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar attempted]] cursing. Even without Vinny's influence, the game ends up showing a lot more dysfunction than the average ''Tomodachi Life'' playthrough, and not just on a dramatic level.
