- Best Known for the Fanservice: Pretty sure a lot of fans came here for the titular flirty, Fanservice-y familiar. It's best to leave it at that.
- Growing the Beard: The abovementioned trope notwithstanding (as evidenced by the concentrated Cliché Storm that is Volumes 1 and 2 of the Manga, or the first six episodes of the anime,) Volume 3 does start making an effort to develop the storyline to some extent. The scope of the plot expands beyond the magical school; antagonists that are an actual threat to Vermeil - who seemed to be an Invincible Hero at the start of the story - are introduced, raising the stakes; and both Alto and Vermeil start receiving clear Character Development, in the process changing their relationship into something that can be called a proper romance subplot instead of just being there for pure fanservice.
- One True Threesome: Quite a few fans are convinced that Vermeil is kinky enough to be willing to share Alto with Lilia.
- Viewer Gender Confusion: Jessica's first appearance in the opening only shows her from the neck up, which makes her resemble Ferdinand von Aegir.
