• Harsher in Hindsight: The segment "Girlfriend, Wife, Stroke" has Nicole Jasper turning down a date from a patient, saying she's Happily Married. When she and Travis appeared on The Amazing Race 23, they fit that mold just fine, until the final third of the season.
• Most Wonderful Sound: Sometime a kid screaming/crying is this. Mainly because that means they're conscious, breathing, and coherent enough to cry.
• Narm: Much like a lot of other series, this show contains "Dramatic re-enactments".... which are, to say the least, not done by professionals.
• Retroactive Recognition: Nicole and Travis Jasper would later appear on The Amazing Race 23
• Seasonal Rot: Season 13 was not the most impressive season. The new backgrounds, transitions, and music gave it a Lighter and Softer feel. Also the stories were less shocking and often relied on the patients grasping harder to the Idiot Ball such as one patient not telling the doctor she was around a machine that had just exploded right before coming in.
• Special Effect Failure: One halloween episode had a patient with an axe stuck in his head... but in order to make the prop axe fit, they stuck it into an absolutely hideous wig that was obviously fake. Funnily enough the doctor thought it was a prank at first since the guy came in on Halloween.
