YMMV / Tulok the Barbrarian

  • Archive Panic: Building Character alone has over 400 episodes.
  • Game-Breaker:
    • He notes that a level 20 Spore Druid is basically immortal, since being able to kill one requires one do 80 damage, without crits, in one round. As such, his Poison Ivy build is the most powerful one of them all.
    • The notoriously game-breaking combination of Divination Wizard and a Lucky feat also shows up, mostly on characters who can see the future in some capacity, varying from King Bradley's Ultimate Eye to Garnet's precognition to T-800 actually being from the future.
    • His builds of the Ice Climbers and Master Chief are some of the most powerful builds he's ever made. The latter is to the point where he was so bereft of negatives that his last listed weakness was that he couldn't kill Poison Ivy. You know you're top tier when one of your few negatives is the inability to kill someone who's nigh immortal.
    • He also likes to note that Halfling's Lucky ability, letting you reroll all natural ones on a dice roll, is so good it will ruin playing non-Halflings to the player.
    • Artificer has become Druid's biggest rival in most broken class Tulok's used, since using the more Boring, but Practical stat up Magic Items can make any sufficiently high leveled Artificer a Master of All.
  • Memetic Mutation: Once an Episode, one specific fan (a friend of Tulok) would request a build based off the real life CNN Anchorman Anderson Cooper, despite Tulok's rule against building real life figures. It became an Ascended Meme in his April Fools 2021 video where he made a parody build of him that involves dipping into many classes & having many skills.
  • No Yay: During his Double Builds a Day Month of 2021, Tulok made a Running Gag of being Shipper on Deck for various pairs of male characters he dedicated a video too. It was overall liked by the fans....except for Ryu and Akuma. Tulok was apparently unaware that the games have often suggested they have a different sort of connection.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Not so much characters, but more so wasted a characters build, as at times his fans feel the build he makes doesn't work. His build for Edelgard von Hresvelg for example, while not hated, was seen by some as a wasted build, as he builds her as a straight Battle Master Fighter with very little in the way of unique abilities, feats, or features that would make a player want to use it. Many felt that her being a Fighter works, but that having her be a Paladin would also help give her more unique abilities with Oath of Conquest in particular being cited as being perfect for her.note
  • Unintentional Period Piece: The big rub when it comes to his use of Unearthed Arcana, basically playtest material still in alpha or beta, is that changes can date videos he used them in. For example, at least one fan has argued that changes to Genie Warlocks basically destroyed his Yugi Mutou build.
