  • Breather Boss: Among the main bosses, the Hanged Queen presents a straightforward fight. She doesn't have Odur's mobility or Varg's brute force, and while her ability to heal can drag out the fight, a player who's gotten used to balancing Claw and Saber attacks can comfortably deplete her health faster than she can replenish it. She's easily defeated with a very aggressive strategy unlike the others.
  • Goddamned Bats:
    • Bow-wielding soldiers can hit you from outside your reach, and you don't have the tools to retaliate at the same distance — even your Feathers lack the range to match them. This means you'll have to draw away the other enemies out of their sight range or risk taking extra damage mid-fight.
    • Small blood wraiths like to manifest from pools of blood in the Royal Garden. They go down in three hits, but they respawn indefinitely until you track down and defeat the larger blood wraith tied to them. Even while you're fighting the big wraith, they'll still be getting potshots in unless you switch away your lock-on just to clear them out.
  • That One Achievement: "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!" is earned by emptying Varg's first health bar in the tutorial stage. While his attacks are slow and vulnerable to parries, they hit hard enough to two-shot you, and you don't have any Talents or Levels to make this task any easier. You only get one opportunity per playthrough to go for this achievement — fail, and you need to start a new file and go through the rest of the tutorial again.
  • That One Boss: Odur is a rather infamous Difficulty Spike at the end of the first area, where your options are also rather lacking. He has a fast attack combo, fakes you out with his mobility, and if you try to keep your distance he harasses you with projectiles, and generally requires the player to master parrying to beat. It's telling that there's a number of guides dedicated to beating Odur compared to any other boss in this game.
