** There's a fairly large broken base over which panel is the best (see also DorkAge).

* DorkAge:
** Season 2 was criticized for squandering the talent pool with team quotas.
** Season 4 was criticized for having too many country acts. Individually no one really minded any of them, but because there were so many of them and they lasted for so long (4 of the top 6 acts were country) some people got bored of listening to so much country when previous seasons had been defined by the variety of contestants.
** Season 6 is widely seen as this as well. Popular aspects of the show such as the knockouts were removed, voting was delayed by a week and the talent pool was widely criticized as bland and uninteresting (some speculate these changes were improvised on the fly for the sole purpose of making frontrunner Music/ChristinaGrimmie the winner; she ultimately finished in third place). Fortunately the producers appear to have learned their lesson, as subsequent seasons fixed these mistakes.

* FoeYay:
** Adam and Christina. It got to the point that [[ShipperOnDeck CeeLo told them to get a room and offered them his place.]]
** Tony Lucca and Christina. Most likely because they were part of ''Series/TheMickeyMouseClub'' and Tony Lucca was on Adam's team.

* This little moment between Adam and Michael Schiavello as they perform an acoustic cover of his hit "She Will Be Loved":

** Some countries' version of the theme song had a pause at the end of the line "This is the voice… of [[Country X]]", which sounds pretty hilarious. Sadly, a number of them wised up after the first season and changed it to the generic guitar riff instead.

* EarWorm: '''''THIS IS THE VOICE!!!''''' *guitar riff*

** Judging by some comments on YouTube, season 11's Billy Gilman seems to be this, to a degree. While no one is debating his talent, some feel that the show should feature inexperienced singers only, and he should not be allowed to compete since he's had a career already, and a Grammy-nominated one, at that. The rules, as of this writing, allow singers who have had professional experience to compete, but should they win, a record contract will not be part of the prize.

* MostWonderfulSound: Whenever you see someone in the auditions and you know and root for them... and then when they're singing the judges press their buttons. Best sound ever.

* CreatorsPet: Some people felt that Cassadee Pope from Season 3 was this due to her having received constant praise by all judges, co beinming in with an already existing fanbase (she was the frontwoman of the pop-punk band Hey Monday), and outlasting several fan favorites.

** The saccharine sob stories of tradgedy were almost wall-to-wall during the first two series of the Australian version.

* SeasonalRot: While the show has had its ups and downs (like the poorly-received sixth season), the general consensus is that it started going downhill around the tenth season due to an increased emphasis on the coaches’ antics instead of the actual contestants, increasingly obvious outcomes and an overreliance on gimmicks like the coach comeback.

** Of course, Cassadee remains one of the most popular contestants from the series and is technically the only one to have mainstream success.

** Tony Lucca and Christina. Most likely because they were part of ''TheMickeyMouseClub'' and Tony Lucca was on Adam's team.

* StarTrekMovieCurse: The general consensus is that odd-numbered seasons are better, with the primary exceptions being season 1 (which is generally considered weak due to EarlyInstallmentWeirdness) and season 8 (which, despite Sawyer Fredericks' victory being a ForegoneConclusion, is usually considered slightly more interesting than other even-numbered seasons).
* XMeetsY: In Season 3, after [=MacKenzie=] Bourg's blind audition, Adam pointed out that [=MacKenzie=] was "HarryPotter meets JustinBieber, a magical popstar", as a reference to comparisons made earlier by Blake and Christina, respectively.

** Season 10's Nick Hagelin was originally eliminated in the knockouts, but he was brought back for the live shows. Many felt that he shouldn't have been a coach comeback in the first place, let alone be voted into the top 12.
