YMMV / The Simpsons S 9 E 11 All Singing All Dancing

Go To

  • Aluminum Christmas Trees: Yes, Paint Your Wagon is a real movie, and it was made after Clint Eastwood became famous. Furthermore, it really was a campy musical that is either reviled or seen as a joke by most critics. But it was not about painting wagons, and does not feature the song heard in this episode. It also did not feature the character in the opening standoff, who resembles Lee Van Cleef in For a Few Dollars More.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: During the closing credits, Snake fires his first gunshots over Phil Hartman's name. A few months later, Hartman was shot to death by his wife in a murder-suicide.
  • Woolseyism: The European French dub team dubbed all the songs of this episode, even if they weren't translated in the original episode or if they were "real" songs (there is notably a weirdly good European French version of "In-a-gadda-da-vida" by the European French cast) which makes it worth watching for the French fans.
  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: Despite this episode originally airing with a TV-G rating, the wraparound plot involves Snake holding the entire family (including Maggie, who is only a baby) at gunpoint for annoying him with their singing. At one point, he even pulls the trigger on them, and the only reason they survive is because Snake's gun didn't have any bullets in it.
