• Values Dissonance: Deliberately invoked. The Evil Overlord was born a 19th-century French reactionary aristocrat, and is exactly as racist as one would expect of a Darwinian from that background, on top of vampiric Super Supremacism. He thinks of the Japanese vampires as sly Orientals, and Germans and Russians as barely civilized half-Europeans, though he considers both worthy opponents in a way; Negroes and other such subhumans, meanwhile, are little more than vermin to him. Ellen can't keep from blinking at how casually he drops lines that are so bigoted that they would have been politically incorrect even in Nazi Germany. At the same time, he is said to have been considered opinionated, but not generally extreme, in his own original social context.
