• Accidental Innuendo: One of Lock and Shock's conversations sounds like, uh, something else if you missed the previous issue and didn't realize they were talking about candy.
  Lock: *to Shock* What happened to you?
  Shock: No, what happened to you? What's that white stuff all over you?
• Moral Event Horizon: In a series that had eating Santa Claus as the worst thing someone can do, the Factory Boss does this almost immediately when he shows up and reveals exactly why the workshop elves are terrified of him by mind controlling them and forcing them to work faster and push their limits to beat the Christmas rush - and unwittingly drags Lock, Shock, and Barrel under his spell, only to immediately verbally abuse them and use his powers to make them work faster when he notices they're slower than the other elves.
• Sweet Dreams Fuel: Most of the story is about an adorable ghost puppy interacting in Christmas town and it is adorable.
• Ugly Cute: Most of Halloween Town, but Lock, Shock, and Barrel in particular this time around.
• The Woobie: Myzer. He's traumatized from losing his puppy on Christmas Eve, feels trapped living in Christmas Town, doesn't seem to have any friends aside from his gingerbread companion, and unlike most of the other not-so-nice elves, he's aloof and cold because of the aforementioned tragedy.
