- Narm: The film's opening, with the Menacing Hand Shot of Adolf Hitler over the map of Norway and him talking at his hammiest doing so (including exaggeration of his Trrrilling Rrrs and pseudo-German gibberish). To a 1943 American audience, that might have sounded menacing. To a 21st century audience that's familiar with a great many of his portrayals from the most serious to the most comedic, the scene practically comes off as parody.
- Retroactive Recognition: The little girl named Carrie was played by a 5 year old Natalie Wood. This was her very first film role.
