- Broken Base: Link’s dialogue. Some don’t mind it, since it IS one of the few times Link has actually spoken but others feel it goes way too much into Captain Obvious territory and ruins some scenes that would’ve worked better if he just shut up for one minute.
- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- The comic is practically prophetic when you look back on it now. Link has a fairy companion, instead of a rabbit the magic of the Dark World transforms him into a wolf, and Zelda, not Link, is the one to kill Ganon by shooting him with the Silver Arrow. The manga also features Roam, a Winged Humanoid who specializes in archery, years before Wind Waker would add the Rito to the franchise.
- When Link receives miracle wings to fly over the desert, an old man says that the wings once belong to a powerful bird that was able to carry knights to battle. Indeed, the knights did ride on giant birds in Skyward Sword. Link also obtains a glider in Breath of the Wild.
- Older Than They Think: The comic adaptation had a few of these:
- Instead of receiving the expected flippers from Zora, Link ends up with "Zora's Mask", a nondescript monster mask that is useful for a Dressing as the Enemy sequence. This was written more than half a decade before The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, let alone The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
- When Zelda deals the final blow in the comic, she does so by aiming at a glowing wound Link carved across Ganon's chest. Ganondorf possesses a similar scar in Twilight Princess.
- A moon with a rictus face.
- A supporting protagonist who is a champion archer and is skilled in flight as a bird, but who is also incredibly arrogant and resents the idea that Link is the chosen hero.
- That Knights of Hyrule would ride giant birds into battle.
- Zelda helps Link by firing arrows at Ganon in the final battle.
- Tear Jerker:
- The comic book adaptation's ending. Link saves the day, kills Ganon, and wins Zelda's heart... but they can never be together because of their respective duties.
- Epheremelda crying as she says goodbye to Link.
