  • Broken Base: Izuku's quirk on two different levels.
    • First is that Izuku doesn't get One For All. Some are happy with the change, insisting it helps make him more unique and is a welcome change of pace from stories where he'll have a powerful quirk yet still get One For All anyway. Others think the reasoning (the two might combine and become too powerful to use or Izuku might be forced to either forsake one or become a Master of None) is weak or they feel that Izuku without One For All isn't really Izuku.
    • Second, the strength of Izuku's quirk. Some readers think it's incredibly overpowered with far too diverse a skill set, insisting that Izuku rival's All Might despite only roughly a year of training. Specifically Izuku managing to kill the USJ Nomu. Others feel Izuku is too weak, citing occasions where he's injured after overexerting his quirk such as the end of the entrance exam after he obliterates the Zero Pointer or when he kills the USJ Nomu.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Blazing-chan and Kanga-chan are both meant to be one-off villains for the USJ attack but instantly proved popular with fans for their interesting quirks and sympathetic backstories. For comparison, as of chapter 13, their files on the character page are longer than Shigaraki's, and he was supposed to be the main antagonist of the USJ arc! Blazing-chan's file has triple the entries that Shigaraki's does.
  • Fan Nickname: The unnamed kangaroo villain who fights Mineta in the USJ quickly earned the moniker of Kanga-chan.
