• Friendly Fandoms: With The Merciless, Beyond Evil, and Strangers From Hell. Some Tumblr users have nicknamed the shared fandom for all four "Merciless Evil Devil From Hell".
• Ho Yay: Yo-han and Ga-on. Yo-han gets very close to Ga-on and touches his shoulder while asking if he lives alone, buys him new clothes and takes him on what's basically a date in all but name, and even gets Ga-on to move into his house. Even the promotional poster◊ shows them staring into each other's eyes.
• Magnificent Bastard: Jung Sun-ah is a wealthy and cunning woman who started as a maid and was hit by her mom a lot. She planned for Ga-on to meet Yo-han, setting the entire plot in motion. Sun-ah has a habit of manipulating and corrupting people such as Jin-joo, as she exploits Jin-joo's desires for recognition and even made her side with the Social Responsibility Foundation, with Jin-joo not knowing how corrupt the organization is. She tends to resort to violence and does some heinous actions, like torturing Yo-han and making him watch as his driver falls to his death and killing Chairman Seo through a hug. However, Sun-ah has limits and standards, too. She stopped Chairman Seo from sexually harassing a waitress and punished him for it. She also cried hard due to guilt when she saw a girl she grew somewhat attached to bedridden and unconscious because of her actions and she repeatedly apologized to her.
• Narm: An English-only example. The name of the app associated with the live court show? DIKE. Cue the English-speaking viewers giggling when it's mentioned.
• Portmanteau Couple Name: "Gahan" for Ga-on/Yo-han.
• The Woobie: Elijah. Her parents die in a fire, she's badly injured and loses the use of her legs, for years she lives with her uncle who she suspects of killing her parents, and then it turns out she accidentally started the fire herself.
