YMMV / The Death Eaters' Disney World Trip

Go To

  • Fridge Brilliance:
    • The author has Voldemort and the Death Eaters call Muggles "Mudbloods", when canonically, the term refers to Muggle-born people, who have magic when their Muggle parents do not. However, considering the Death Eaters believe Muggle-born magicals were actually Muggles who stole their magic, it's surprisingly apt.
    • In Chapter 3, Wormtail parks the minivan he is driving into a handicap parking spot. Considering he only has one hand and his silver hand is essentially a magical prosthetic, he can probably qualify for the spot if he registers for a permit to use it.
    • Voldemort is stated to have 12 Horcruxes as opposed to 6 or 7. While 7 is the most powerful magical number, 13 also holds significance in the magical world in being an unlucky number, as "the cause of suffering and misfortune". With 12 Horcruxes, in this AU, Voldemort would have a 13-part soul instead (or 14-part if Harry is still a Horcrux). It's just as likely that he created more Soul Jars as safeguards, being more paranoid than canon, while still adhering to numerological beliefs in magic.
  • Inferred Holocaust: In Chapter 8, Voldemort transfigures a snake on stage into a Basilisk while watching Fantasmic!. While Ali, Solar, and the Death Eater troupe survived, who knows if the snake looked at any of the Muggle audience in the eye, who "thought it was just part of the show" and not a highly dangerous creature with a literal Deadly Gaze?
