YMMV / The D Show

Go To

  • Accidental Innuendo: While it's obvious who it's taken from, it's hard to deny that The D Show sounds like a good name for cheesy pornography.
  • Awesome Music: The show theme is very catchy and references a bunch of Disney things well, hyping any players up for The D Show.
  • No Problem with Licensed Games: It's a standard game show video game with charming presentation (including an enjoyable hostess and a ton of screenshots/video clips) and no major hiccups.
  • Surprise Difficulty: Just because it's about Disney doesn't mean that kids can do it well. Some questions require knowledge of such obscure trivia that even parents would be likely to struggle with.
  • Unexpected Character: Retroactive example; the logo for the "Before & After" question type shows the heads of two Disney characters next to each word. The one next to "after" is Mickey Mouse, of course, while the one next to "before" is, surprisingly, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, who Disney did not get ownership of back until eight years after this game's release.
  • Unintentional Period Piece:
    • Since the game came out in 1998, the references stop at Mulan. With lots of movies and shows to have come out since then, with the former mostly relying on CGI unlike the ones before which were almost completely 2D animation, it certainly would be out of the comfort zone for younger Disney fans if they played today.
    • One question asks who the host for The Magical World of Disney appointed in 1988 is. The correct answer is Michael Eisner, to which the hostess adds "And now you can catch him every night on The Wonderful World of Disney!" Eisner quit hosting in 2002.
    • The hostess introduces the 1995 category by saying "Seems like only yesterday..." Not a sentiment people would share nowadays.
