- Retroactive Recognition: The Domino AI is voiced by Nia Vardalos, a few years before she would become known for a certain large-sized wedding.
- Special Effect Failure:
- One of the reasons this series never caught on. Unlike the original series, whose failures added to its charm, the digital effects used for the series are atrocious even for the franchise and scream late '90s.
- KRO was supposed to be a Ferrari F355, but it was actually portrayed by a Pontiac Fiero modified to resemble one. The results were hit-or-miss at best.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: The main reason the series was considered a failure on many levels (and failed to draw much public interest) was removing/departing from many aspects the original series had, such as:
- Departure from the "One man can make a difference" premise, since it was now an entire team, each member with their own AI-equipped car.
- Use of Ford, rather than Pontiac, for the team's vehicles. (Though Ford made an extremely generous offer to the producers, KITT's Pontiac Firebird Trans Am "body" left a lasting impression on many fans of the original series, which made them rabid Pontiac fans.) note
- Lack of spectacular "feature of the week" abilities (probably due to budget constraints).
- Absence of a KITT-style red "Cylon eye" on the vehicles.
