YMMV / Sword & Fairy 6

  • Awesome Music: In an out-of-the-way event, a cat version of Jinzhao will sing the beautiful "Wave Flower" if you speak with him.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Encountering cat versions of Jinzhao and Qi at the Sunset Tribe village. While "Meow" Jinzhao will sing a song for you, their very presence comes out of nowhere and is never spoken of.
  • Moral Event Horizon: The Risen Sun Cult crosses it when one devotee threatens to immolate himself at the entrance to the True Martial Alliance if they didn't stop its mission to destroy the cult. Upon seeing his young daughter, he hints that he had just murdered his ex-wife and her parents while also implying he would have killed the daughter if she had been home at the time. To go even further, he douses the daughter in oil and prepares to immolate her as well, all for the sake of proving his devotion to the Cult.
  • Obvious Beta: Most of the criticisms against the game come from a lot of technical flaws and lack of optimization: stuttering frame rates, improper text placement/grammatical errors, and the occasional crash. The aesthetic side, however, is heavily praised.
  • That One Achievement: One of the in-game titles requires completing the entire flight segment prior to the battle against Ying Long without taking a single hit from any of his attacks. The window of opportunity for dodging is already very small and comes down far more to luck. It's a long section with multiple phases. Fortunately, the PS4 version does not have it as a trophy.
  • That One Boss: The Infernal Goat-Demon: It has an attack that sets the battle arena on fire and constantly does fixed damage to the entire party even during long attack animations. It can be difficult to stay alive even with Ming Xiu acting as full-time healer.
  • The Woobie: Luo Zhaoyan has not had an easy life: She learns early on that her twin brother is leeching her life force away because of the Rehai curse and she will die young as a result. She becomes an orphan while still a child and ends up having to disguise herself as a man for years in order to take up the position as master of the Luo family. Her ambition to leave a strong legacy for the Luo family is shattered when her brother kills every other member of the family except for her and her favorite cousin, who tries to kill her in anger for revenge. Finally, she has to take on the role of "villain" and destroy her home away from home after driving everyone out of it as part of a plan to prevent the Kun from going berserk.
