YMMV / Supernatural S 04 E 08 Wishful Thinking

• Harsher in Hindsight: The actor who played Todd, the bullied kid who became violent when he got super strength, was sentenced to life in prison for murdering his mother in 2020.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • This episode has Sam pretending he's writing a book called Supernatural. Flash forward to "The Monster at the End of this Book" later this season, and it turns out someone already did. A whole series of books. Likely doubles as Foreshadowing.
  • When The Hillywood Show did their "Supernatural Parody 2" video in 2018, Teddy makes a cameo. While Sam and Dean only talked about shooting the bear in the actual episode, they actually try to exterminate him in the parody. All they get is fluff in their faces.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: The audience is clearly supposed to feel sorry for Wes at the end, who's lost the woman he allegedly "loves". However, said woman was Brainwashed into loving him (and possibly sleeping with him). It's hard to see him as anything but a pathetic creep, especially considering that he made the wish without even trying to speak with Hope Lynn in the first place. Somewhat downplayed, since he did reverse the wish on his own.
