• Alternative Character Interpretation: Did the Super Dave Band really only know one song, or were they passive-aggressively Trolling him? The "Beach Boys Tribute" episode showed that they could sing "Barbara Ann", so maybe the issue was that they knew "plenty songs" to sing, but could only play "Copacabana".^note There's also Fridge Brilliance there, since The Beach Boys' hit "Kokomo" includes the line "we'll be dancing to the rhythm of a steel drum band", so it makes sense that they'd at least know about The Beach Boys.
• More Popular Spin Off: Bizarre is fairly obscure these days, while Super Dave is a fondly remembered Cult Classic of its era.
• Older Than They Think: Bob Einstein first appeared as Super Dave Osborne on the CBS series The John Byner Comedy Hour in 1972, and performed him on a few other variety shows between then and the debut of Bizarre in 1980. Mike Walden first appeared with Super Dave on The Redd Foxx Show in 1977. Two of Super Dave's most famous failed stunts—getting accidentally knocked off the top of the CN Tower and the "Balloon Ball" routine that ends up with a piledriver reducing Dave to just his head and feet (which later became the basis of the Super Dave logo)—were actually from Bizarre (though the clips for both were included in later Super Dave episodes).
• Retroactive Recognition: Céline Dion, just barely launching her Anglophone singing career after becoming a huge star in the French Canadian community, made two guest appearances.
• Special Effects Failure: Most of the time it's obviously a stand-in mannequin getting injured in place of Super Dave, a deliberate case of Stylistic Suck that makes it just that much funnier.
