YMMV / Steven Universe S2E4 "Say Uncle"

• Bizarro Episode: The entire episode has a multitude of over-the-top and nonsensical events, since it's a out-of-continuity episode. Fan reception to this was...mixed, to say the least.
• Fanfic Fuel: Uncle Grandpa's visits to the other shows on his checklist- especially the SWAT Kats.
• Genius Bonus: Despite not being canon, this episode included one odd bit of foreshadowing regarding Steven's mother. While examining Steven's gem, Uncle Grandpa tells him "You should make sure to get this thing polished at least twice a year." Rose quartz doesn't need regular cleaning unless soiled — but diamonds require regular cleaning to maintain brilliance.
• Take That, Scrappy!: Despite the Take That, Audience! undertones of the episode, the audience is thrown a couple of bones with Pizza Steve being eaten, and the Crystal Gems beating up Uncle Grandpa.
• Unexpected Character: Not physically present, but when UG runs down his checklist of Cartoon Network worlds he's dropped by, he lists most of the main characters that are children and human, including ones from about half the original Cartoon Cartoons, some of the mid-2000s series, and the current series. In the middle, he's got SWAT Kats, whose main characters are adult non-humans and was created for TBS before even the Cartoon Cartoons, though reruns have aired on Cartoon Network and Boomerang. (Rebecca Sugar stated this was a favorite show of hers when she was growing up, and some of the other Crewniverse staffers have made reference to it, which may explain it.)
