• Awesome Music: The opening cue to the episode ("Perspectives") has received praise.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The first trailer for Star Trek: Picard features a scene in which Data offers Picard a paintbrush, and Picard sadly turns him down by saying "I don't know how"—prompting fans to dig out screencaps and gifs of the opening scene of this episode to point out that Jean-Luc has other, less dramatic reasons for not letting Data's ghost make him paint again.
• Memetic Mutation: The Riker Facepalm is almost as memetic as the Picard Facepalm in the episode immediately previous. Some add the Picard Facepalm to the Riker Facepalm, creating a Double Facepalm. There's even a Triple Facepalm that further adds Worf.
• Narm: O'Brien's a little too calm when he tells Riker that he narrowly avoided getting blown up with the rest of the space station.
