Just Here for Godzilla: Whereas most people check out "Good Neighbors" out of Bile Fascination, most fans seek out this episode for being considered one of the best post-movie episodes.
"WE'RE GONNA KILL YOU"ExplanationA screenshot of Squidward talking to the boy who failed at the skill crane, captioned to make it look like he's threatening him, has gained traction as a reaction image.
"Because... I'm all out of MOOONEEEEEEY!"ExplanationThis scene is popular for remixes and parody videos on YouTube usually making Squidward's shouting louder, replacing the word "money" with something else, or making the animation more deranged or grotesque, or sometimes all three in a single video.
Designated Villain: While "Good Neighbors" as a whole doesn’t necessarily imply that Squidward is the villain, it does give him an Evil Laugh at one point... even though all the guy wants to do is relax on a Sunday (his favorite day). This is further implied when his new security system doesn't designate SpongeBob and Patrick as threats, implying he is the one with the problem due to overreacting to them, even though he has told them repeatedly to leave him alone.
Franchise Original Sin: To many, this is the episode which began the "Squidward Torture Porn" trend of him being tortured for no good reason (in this case, wanting to relax on his Sunday), something that mainly continued until Season 9B. It also marked the beginning of SpongeBob and Patrick's Flanderization into oblivious, blithering idiots completely ignorant of the trouble they cause around them, unlike in this episode where they recognized they messed up, albeit after Squidward had to get it through them by screeching at their faces in rage he's never displayed beforehand.
Jerkass Woobie: Squidward isn't exactly nice in this episode but considering SpongeBob and Patrick just won’t let him relax no matter what, leading to the entire episode being a lengthy Trauma Conga Line for him, you can’t exactly blame him for being stressed and lashing out.
SECURITY SYSTEM TAKES CONTROL OF SQUIDWARDS HOUSE.ExplanationA clip from a now-deleted Geek Ultimatum Network review of the episode where the narrator goes on an extended rant about the episode's treatment of Squidward, viewing it as the catalyst of the series' Sadist Show approach in the inter-movie seasons. The clip was brought to public attention at around the same time when the Caustic Critic reviewing style became increasingly scrutinized among the cartoon community, resulting in it becoming a widespread subject for parody. Expect this particular rant to come up anytime this episode is brought up.
Squidward's entire rant towards SpongeBob and Patrick, Nightmare Fuel-inducing as it is due to the Nightmare Face that Squidward made during his tirade.
Squidward kicks everyone out of his house/GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!ExplanationThe ending where Squidward kicks SpongeBob and Patrick out of his house and blows them away with his yelling has had many edits made to it where he kicks a hodgepodge of people out of his house all at once, including (but not limited to) Grand Theft Auto protagonists and Genshin Impact characters, similar to the "[X] trying to get a pizza from SpongeBob" meme.
Nightmare Fuel: Squidward's house going on a rampage and destroying the city might be unsettling for some.
Strawman Has a Point: Squidward had every right to call SpongeBob and Patrick out for causing him such agony over the day, especially when they stole his pedicure unsolicited.
Tear Jerker: SpongeBob and Patrick nearly being reduced to tears from Squidward's tirade.
