Adding to the above is Frank Braña's appearance, combined with the film's choice of dub actor, making him bear a hilarious resemblance to Leslie Nielsen.
So Bad, It's Good: The film is utterly ridiculous, has an over the top orchestral soundtrack that deviates into triumphant cop show-opening music at the drop of a hat, has performances from a cast that largely doesn't care, and has slugs with visible teeth, but some of the special effects are well done and certain scenes can be genuinely unnerving to watch. As The Cinema Snob points out in his review, it's also one of the more gruesome films of it's kind, setting it a little apart from the likes of C.H.U.D., if you're into that sort of thing.
