- Hilarious in Hindsight: Dutchy: "There's no one below decks, X." Charge: "You sure?" Dutchy: "Apart from Harold Holt and Osama bin Laden, no one."
- The episode screened the night Julia Gillard replaced Kevin Rudd as Prime Minister of Australia
- Osama bin Laden since joined Harold Holt in the Never Found the Body club.
- Harsher in Hindsight: The show was produced as the Royal Australian Navy was transitioning from the Fremantle class to the Armidale class and the crew marvels at how much more advanced the new Hammersley is. However, design flaws, poor maintenance, and overuse rendered the class short-lived and the Australian government accelerated the search for a replacement design.
- Nightmare Fuel: Red Sky Morning. Hammersley comes across a boat where the only two crew members are badly injured. They say that a third crew member went insane, and tried to kill them. XO, Buffer, and 2Dads are left behind as Hammersley returns to port for repairs. Buffer and 2Dads are locked in the walk-in freezer, where they nearly perish, while XO is getting really jumpy.
- And then the stalker reveals himself. Thankfully, Hammersley returns just in time to rescue them.
- Somehow, the stalker seals himself in a body bag, and dumps the body of a crew member he killed earlier where the crew will find it. This leads to the stalker getting aboard Hammersley. XO gets the fright of her life when the stalker bursts from the body bag and tries one last time to kill her.
- And then the stalker reveals himself. Thankfully, Hammersley returns just in time to rescue them.
