YMMV / Sara is Missing

• Complete Monster: Irizu is a mysterious cult leader, stalker and killer responsible for the titular Sara's disappearance. Sending out a chain letter "death curse video"—also implied to be a controlled corruption virus they use to track their victims—Sara was one such victim and taken hostage, along with her friends James and Faith, the latter implied to be one of his cultists. Irizu eventually contacts the player and has them send the chain link to Sara's contacts by threatening James's life; Irizu kills James even if the player does what they're told. Next, Irizu forces the player to decide who lives between Faith and Sara, giving them ten seconds to decide. Irizu tries justifying themselves by saying that people die all the time "at God's hands" and that they are an instrument of God's will, but when pressed further, admits that it's just for fun.
• Narm: Some players find the "Red Room" video to be this rather than truly horrifying, especially if they recognize the sources for some of the images.

• Nightmare Fuel:
  • When you get your second call from James, there's a loud baby-like wail that's heard in the background. James will pause and ask aloud if you heard that strange sound.
  • When you look through Sara's photos, there will be one with someone dressed in a creepy outfit just staring at Sara while standing under a streetlight.
  • The offscreen chase involving James and the cult members. He witnesses something, which he never describes. The only thing the player gets is his frantic reactions as he’s running away. He seems to have gotten away, but then he says he hears something and is typing for an uncomfortably long time before you respond to him.
• The Woobie:
  • Sara, as if being treated poorly by just about everyone around her and being lead to a cult doesn't show how much your life is hell.
  • Poor James. Unlike most of the others around Sara, he genuinely cares for her and when he learns about her going to a cult, he's gone nuts. He calls you trying to get to Sara and he's in an absolute panic while crying out for her to pick up. And when he's gotten in, he's captured, suffocated, and slit by the members of the cult. To rub it in further, no matter what you do, no matter what you try, he will die.
