• Captain Obvious Reveal: Joe is actually Nemesis, not Samaritan. The moment you combine his insistence that he's not Samaritan with the fact that the latter went missing after killing his twin, the twist becomes screamingly obvious.
• Just Here for Godzilla: Most attention the film received (and in fact, what most press articles about the film were centered) was for Sylvester Stallone playing a superhero.^note Ironically, by the time Stallone made this film, he had already appeared in both the MCU's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and the DCEU's The Suicide Squad, but in the former his appearance was essentially a cameo and in the latter he was part of a large ensemble cast, whereas here he was in one of the leading roles.
• Narm: While the Digital De-Aging effect on Stallone's face during the flashback looks realistic, it makes him look at least 40 years younger as opposed to 25.
