• Complete Monster: Dilton Doiley of Rivervale is an unassuming physicist hoping to observe the effects of universes colliding. Trying to keep Jughead in the dark about the destructive event, Dilton means to let billions perish just to view the phenomena.
• Creator's Pet: Jughead's status as the writers' favourite is taken to almost new extremes in this episode:
  • The episode is named after him
  • The story focuses on him, while other characters get turns (some, like Toni, Tabitha, and Kevin, reduced to cameos like they have been for much of the show's run, specifically seasons 2-4 where Jughead sucked up 90% of the screen time).
  • He saves the universe while his ostensible rival for the protagonist spot (on this show) and his romantic rival for Betty's affections, Archie, is made the big bad for convoluted reasons, the cherry on top of this monstrosity being Betty actually gratuitously, graphically shooting Archie dead to save Jughead and then proceeding to be forced by the plot to make out with Jughead.
  • He's heralded as the noble hero who chooses to sacrifice himself for the greater good.
