• Complete Monster: While none of the badguys are seen in any sort of sympathetic light, The Dark One and Meibisi fit this trope best, for being most directly responsible for every horrible thing that happened in the games.
• Fridge Logic: It is repeated several times that the marks are passed down through the first born of the cursed families. How is it that Tati, who's a good 8 to 9 years younger than Rau, is marked instead of him?
• Tear Jerker: Baumusu's death in Mark of Kri. Grizz's death in Rise of the Kasai. Even more so, considering that Tati has to cut Grizz's skin off just moments after he dies so the Kasai can't keep his mark.
