Introduced as a humble man entertaining [[BarbarianHero Rau]]'s thirst for more adventure with prospects of money, the Dark One in truth seeks to subvert Rau's destiny as a hero that will destroy the Kasai. Tricking Rau into excavating a tomb holding the fourth mark of Kri, the Dark One seemingly pays Rau as promised with hexed money, forcing him to undertake a journey to save his life. Taking the opportunity to kidnap [[WouldHurtAChild a child]] holding the fifth mark, the village oracle compels Rau to his rescue. Revealing he already [[HumanSacrifice sacrificed]] the child and was expecting Rau, the Dark One exploits Rau's absence to launch a genocidal campaign against his village, killing everyone but Rau's sister, Tati, who holds the sixth and final mark on her back. Resurrecting the villagers as the undead to bolster his army for conquest, the Dark One agonizingly siphons Tati's soul in the ritual to revive the forbidden spell of Kri.

* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: Despite it's cartoony art-style ripped straight out of a Creator/{{Disney}} cartoon, it's a violent M-rated game with lots of over-the-top stealth executions and brutal hand-to-hand combat with decapitations and beheadings.

* ThatOneLevel: Igua Hatu. Not for the actual difficulty of getting through it, but for the challenge conditions that must be met to obtain the Arena, such as killing five mooks with falling barrels or using every combo attack with every weapon.

* FetishFuelStationAttendant: Not only does Tati have such a sexy outfit, her animations are also extremely sexy. Especially the ones for attacking enemies.

* CompleteMonster: While none of the badguys are seen in any sort of sympathetic light, The Dark One and Meibisi fit this trope best, for being most directly responsible for every horrible thing that happened in the games.

* FridgeLogic: It is repeated several times that the marks are passed down through the first born of the cursed families. How is it that Tati, who's a good 8 to 9 years younger than Rau, is marked instead of him?
