YMMV / Riki's Inflation Game 2

Go To

  • Audience-Alienating Premise: A video game where the whole gimmick is inflating yourself, which wouldn't be too bad if wasn't a fetish game.
  • Breather Level: World 3 in general, but especially world 3-1. There are very few traps, and world 3 is the only one without turrets in it.
  • Cult Classic: Among those who enjoy the idea of a game where the protagonist spends the majority of the time inflating themselves.
  • Demonic Spiders: Water turrets. Water causes the player character to become heavier, with even one water ball making even the normal platforms an Insurmountable Waist-Height Fence, and water turrets love to hide at the bottom of the game's many Kaizo Traps. Add in that they're almost always paired with heat ray turrets, and it becomes a nightmare to deal with them.
  • Designated Villain: The final boss can feel like this, due to the game's No Plot? No Problem! nature.
  • Fun for Some: Given its nature as a fetish game.
  • Goddamned Bats: Heat ray turrets. They don't do anything other than fill the player's Heat meter, but are often paired with water or air tank turrets.
    • Air tank turrets can be this, as well. Especially if the player is near to bursting, or if there are multiple in one area.
  • Nightmare Fuel: See "Audience Alienating Premise."
    • The player character EXPLODES into Ludicrous Gibs when their health reaches 0.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: The Heat system. The player can only fire projectiles until the heat meter is full, and it takes a painfully long time to cool down. Add in that enemies are often placed in rows, have a heat ray turret placed between them, water causes the player to inflate even more when the meter's full, and the last world in the game has heaters that cause the entire room to fill the player's heat gauge, and it becomes practically unbearable.
  • Sequel Displacement: Where is Riki's Inflation Game 1?
  • Squick: See "Audience Alienating Premise."
  • That One Level: The second world, where water constantly drips from leaky faucets. Especially 2-1, where there's a Kaizo Trap where, even after all of the turrets are destroyed, the player is still constantly bombarded with water droplets.
