  • Surprise Difficulty: The game determines the track speed using the song's overall BPM. Sometimes, however, the game detects either half the actual BPM, in which case the trope is inverted, or double the BPM, in which case it's played straight. For example, Hot Action Cop - Fever for the Flava (be it the original lyrics or the Bowdlerised version from Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, the game will treat it as the same song) is one of the few tracks that is five stars in difficulty.
  • That One Achievement:
    • "Wild Style" requires you to purchase all of the paint packs for every car which wouldn't be so bad if some cars didn't have a "Hotline" scheme that costs a whopping 25,000 coins (except on the Photon, though it doesn't have the blue-pink bi-color and it's just pink) and you only get around 100 per track depending on length (more if you beat the ghost or author it).
    • "Wheels of Steel", which requires you to drive every car in the game, can be this if you don't realize that there are two hidden cars that can only be unlocked by playing specific songs (see "Easter Egg" on the main page).
