  • Awesome Music: The Wild West and Atlantis (Present) themes. For all of the game's faults, these two themes are considered very good.
  • Bile Fascination: Most people only see this game to find out if it's really as awful as everyone says.
  • Camera Screw: The camera has a tendency to get stuck in places where it's not supposed to, making obstacles impossible to see. The only consolation is that you can snap it with the shoulder buttons.
  • Fan-Preferred Cut Content: Some have noted that the game probably wouldn't have ended up as bad as it did if the game kept its originally intended directional controls, as it's blatantly obvious that the levels were designed with directional controls (instead of rotational controls) in mind.
  • Goddamned Boss: Gordon The Good Natured in his optional mini-boss encounter. He's not that hard, but he's hated because he is completely pointless since you get absolutely nothing for defeating him and may waste your lives, health, and ammo trying to thinking you will get something from it.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • The giant spider in the Hollywood level, which drops from the ceiling out of nowhere.
    • Chronon is designed so creepily, that he is nightmarish just to look at, but most especially in the opening FMV. Picture a hyper realistic Doctor Nefarious Tropy reject with the body of a grandfather clock and with his arms as literal clock heads and you get the picture!
    • The game over screen, which has a giant version of Chronon looking even more nightmarish with a more lifelike and Unintentional Uncanny Valley face.
  • Scrappy Mechanic:
    • The controls and camera are generally considered to have singlehandedly turned what could’ve potentially been a decent early 3D platformer into a nearly unplayable nightmare.
    • The saving system, which is prone to lockup and can easily be forgotten.
    • The deadly pickups that damage you.
    • The useless maps which can't help you navigate the levels.
    • The weapon which deals low damage and runs out of ammo too fast.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: The final stage has a Boss Rush of various enemies themed after the previous worlds. One might wonder why these bosses weren't used for their respective worlds instead of recycling Chronon over and over again.
  • Visual Effects of Awesome: For all of the game's faults, it has some surprisingly good graphics, effects, and optimization for an early PS1 game, such as the title screen seamlessly transitioning into the main hub world. Even Jim Caddick (who otherwise disliked the game) admitted that the time bubbles serving as level entrances were one of the best PS1 graphical effects he had ever seen.
    • The game is also notable for having reduced texture warping, making the models look much more consistent with each other.
    • What's more impressive is that the game runs on a modified Sonic R engine, and it definitely shows throughout.
