YMMV / Quasi at the Quackadero

Go To

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Is the "Shining Moment" machine a scam that makes up false memories? Or did Winky Orlando simply lie that the memory shown never happened to him in order to avoid getting outed as a possible rapist?
  • Animation Age Ghetto: The shorts' surreal presentation and somewhat racy humor distinctly place them here. Neither one has any especially objectionable content in it, but they're probably not something that you'd want to show to young children.
  • Awesome Art: Sally Cruikshank's vibrant, elaborate and surreal visuals remain impressive even today.
  • Awesome Music: Sally was a fan of music from The '30s (even having Danny Elfman sing "Don't Go In The Basement" on Face Like a Frog in the style of Cab Calloway), causing each of the shorts to be brimming with catchy tunes.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Quasi at the Quackadero is essentially a compilation of nothing but these.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Snozzy's musical number in Make Me Psychic, as it's a jaunty song revolving entirely around how badly he wants to grope Anita.
  • Cult Classic: Popular on midnight screenings during The '70s.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The trippy visuals can be rather disturbing depending on your mood.
  • Quirky Work: The world the characters inhabit follows its own logic, making the shorts very bizarre.
  • Squick: The "Shining Moment" sequence. Nobody should have to see "duck" nipples in their lifetime.
