- Award Snub: Some people feel that this short really got cheated out of the Academy Award, losing to a now obscure Silly Symphony The Country Cousin, despite the fact that years later it got entered into the National Film Registry AND is #17 on The 50 Greatest Cartoons list.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: Boola the two-headed Yiddish Giant proved a popular enough character for Terrytoons to make their own copy that starred in several shorts from 1937 to 1940.
- Narm: The roars of Sindbad's beasts might've sounded terrifying back in 1936, but not today. Let's just say whoever did them is no Frank Welker.
- Padding: Wimpy's antics with the duck contribute absolutely nothing to the plot and could easily be removed.
