* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments:
** When Sindbad orders the roc to destroy Popeye's ship, it initially looks confused and squawks at him. But when Sindbad adds "And bring me the woman," the roc smiles and winks at him like "Oh, I got you, bro."
** Boola singing a sarcastic lullaby to Popeye while punching him.
** Boola's heads start arguing with each other, which results in Boola tossing Popeye aside so the two halves can punch each other in the face. It's no wonder Sindbad had an easy time capturing the giant.

* AwardSnub: Some people feel that this short really got cheated out of the Academy Award, losing to a now obscure Silly Symphony ''The Country Cousin'', despite the fact that years later it got entered into the UsefulNotes/NationalFilmRegistry AND is #17 on The50GreatestCartoons list.

* EsotericHappyEnding / FridgeHorror: This ones a bit more debatable. Yay! Popeye manages to beat Sindbad and save Olive! Now there’s no one keeping the monsters and wild animals he has all over the TurtleIsland in check! And it’s unlikely Popeye would ever wanna stay there... granted it’s not like he couldn’t overpower all of them; even without spinach.
** Depends, since Sindbad seems to be ruling them with intimidation and fear, aside from the giant bird, who seems willing to go along with his plans. Sindbad actively beats them, while Popeye only attacks if attacked first, and doesn't even pursue the lions he scared away.
