** The climax of ''WesternAnimation/EquestriaGirls'' makes a good bit more sense in this verse than in canon [[spoiler:since the physical Elements aren't needed to use the Elements and Sunset Shimmer's demon form could easily have been her [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Nightmare]] assuming she's a potential Element of Magic like Twilight and Trixie.]] Equestria Girls wasn't even thought of when that aspect of the series was introduced.

** During the Wedding arc, Twilight meets up with her old Canterlot friends and learns they had a bet running as to why she never got back in touch with them. All but one of them believed she decided she was too good for them instead of what actually happened (her moving to Ponyville permanently to learn about friendship). Who was that one pony who had faith in her? '''Moondancer.''' Yes, the same Moondancer who we later learned [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS5E12AmendingFences canonically]] was so heartbroken over Twilight not going to her birthday party she became a bitter, lonely shut-in. [[WordOfGod Alex]] takes the personal interpretation that the difference between the two [[ForWantOfANail lies in how POV!Moondancer met up with Twilight much sooner than Canon!Moondancer did,]] thus POV!Moonie had less time to slowly decline mentally than Canon!Moonie did, further demonstrated as POV!Moondancer being described as having an appearance closer to [[http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/e/e6/Comic_issue_SS_Moondancer.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/180?cb=20131030213918 her IDW design]] [[spoiler: while she shows up in [[http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aLcoRpO7TMk/ViDBN4nUqmI/AAAAAAACakk/QdVbPDkyUbw/s1600/Moon_Dancer_gives_Twilight_a_tearful_smile_S5E12.png her show design]] as a mini-boss in the Rumors arc.]]

** Princess Gaia reverses the curse on the ponies of Sunny Town and allows them to become servants in her castle. However, Gray Hoof becomes a pony-shaped topiary tree. Is this what he actually wants (for whatever reason), or is this Princess Gaia's way of punishing him, since he is the one who killed Ruby while the others didn't stop him and just watched? (Admittedly, it doesn't sound as bad as being a zombie for all eternity.)

** The fic gives this treatment to [[spoiler:the ''entire'' G3 world. G3 is hated by a vast majority of fans, Gen 3.5 even more so. This fic successfully makes them into complex characters the audience can feel for. While the AlasPoorScrappy moment would be sad in its own right, the fact this was done first makes it downright ''devastating''.]]
** Many fans consider this series to be better than FIM in it's entirety. The lack of StatusQuoIsGod and the fact that the events of one "episode"/chapter will have consequences on the next means that the CharacterDevelopment is MUCH stronger. The world-building is more detailed, the EmotionalTorque is off the charts. The morals are far more mature and are actually woven into the narrative, not just tacked on as an {{Aesop}}. The battle scenes regularly outclass even the best of what Friendship is Magic has to offer and the Villains and their arcs get the time they need to allow satisfying conclusions. Add to this the fact that The POV series has done stories from later seasons (The plot of Reharmonised Ponies about the Mane Six coming to better understand their element is remarkably similar to season four's plot. Despite Reharmonised being written during Season two.), but ''better''.

** Somnambula [[NamesTheSame (the witch, not the pegasus)]] to the secondary writers, at least, who gave her a spot in [[http://kendell2.deviantart.com/art/Pony-POV-Dark-World-Drabbles-Little-Sisters-386856121 one side story]] and who wrote her into two of the 4th Wall Breaking Stories.

** In 2012, Nurse Redheart's Butterflies chapter reveals that after the Princess Gaia incident, Fluttershy sometimes transforms into a butterfly to go to the hospital and visit dying patients with no friends or family, so someone will be with them in their final moments. Sounds a lot like [[Wiki/SCPFoundation SCP-4999]].
