YMMV / Pink Personal Hell And Altering Fate

Go To

  • Fridge Brilliance: If you think about it, the change of narrative styles (First person in Pink Personal Hell and Third Person in Altering Fate) makes a bit of sense given the story's twist. The events of Pink Personal Hell act as In Medias Res to Altering Fate. It can be interpreted in a way that the Two Lines, No Waiting is Nickel Steel thinking back to the few week(s) before he went to Ponyville from his perspective - his "Pink Personal Hell" so to speak. It might further cement him as an Unreliable Narrator, focusing moreso on the Pink Personal Hell than what happened outside of it - he frankly doesn't want to remember.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: This was written before the Season 3 finale. The idea of "changing destiny" through supernatural means in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic might have made the author chuckle a little. Similarly, going through a mirror and becoming something else? Egads, he predated My Little Pony: Equestria Girls. This may turn out to be a bit Harsher in Hindsight depending on what the authors' opinions was.
  • The Un Twist: Okay... it becomes quite obvious that Nickel Steel was Dominic later on.
